This season (2020-2021) Jim Ventre is the head coach for Roots Volleyball’s fifth 15s team – 15 Pink.
Last season (2019-2020) Jim Ventre served as the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s third 15s team – 15 White. The previous season (2018-2019) Jim served as the assistant coach for 16 White and the assistant coach for 13 Black. The previous season (2017-2018) Jim served as the assistant coach for 13 HCI Black and 14 HCI White. 13 HCI Black had 2 top 10 finishes and 14 HCI White had 4 top 10 finishes. The previous season (2016-2017), Jim served as the head coach for 12 HCI Black and assistant coach for 14 HCI White. In his prior season as the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s top 12s coach for 12 Green (2014-2015), his team competed at the Lone Star Classic National Qualifier in Dallas, Texas and won 4 medals in regional play.
Jim grew up in Smithtown, New York. He moved to Austin four years ago to pursue a career in teaching and coaching. Jim attended Elon University and graduated with a degree in Sport Management. After undergraduate studies, Jim went on to earn a graduate degree in Health Education. With this degree, he spent four years teaching and coaching various sports on Long Island. He has coached in a variety of varsity programs (volleyball, soccer, and football).
Outside of Roots Volleyball, Jim teaches elementary PE, coaches football at Austin High School, plays recreational ice hockey, and runs recreationally. This is Jim’s 6th season coaching with the Roots Volleyball family.
