This season (2023-2024) Emily Daves is the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s third 12s team – 12-3 Maple.

Emily Daves has been playing volleyball since she was 12 (school and club). She attends Concordia High School and has been a varsity leader all four seasons.  Emily is in the gym currently coaching several Roots Volleyball programs.

Emily has a passion for volleyball and believes coaching youth volleyball is one of the most important jobs you can hold. While it is a job, she believes it is more of a responsibility to help shape the paths, lives, and integrity of younger women. She believes teaching the fundamentals of volleyball, good sportsmanship, and how to be an effective member of a team, will result in creating the next generation of strong, successful women in our society.

Emily grew up on 80s rock music and loves country music. She goes line dancing and enjoys two-stepping her way through every weekend. Emily also had a passion for racing and plans to major in mechanical engineering with a focus in high performance racing vehicles.

Emily resides in Austin with her cat, Pixie. This will be Emily’s first season coaching with the Roots Volleyball family.
