JULIANNA MARTINEZ
This season (2022-2023) Juliana Martinez is the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s second 14s team – 14 Blue.
Last season (2021-2022) Juliana served as the assistant coach for 15 Hickory. The previous season (2020-2021), Juliana was the head coach for 12 Hickory and assistant coach for 16 Hickory. In 2019,2020, Julianna served as the head coach for 13 HCI Black and the assistant coach for 14 HCI Black. During the 2018-2019 season Julianna served as the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s top 14s team – 14 Under Armour. The previous season (2017-2018) Julianna served as the head coach for 14 HCI Black. The season before (2016-2017), Julianna led her team to 3 top ten finishes including a strong showing in the gold bracket at the Nike Mideast Qualifier in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Her 2013-2014 team, 16 Black, won Texas Fest and finished 3rd at the Nike Mideast National Qualifier in Indianapolis, Indiana. Juliana has coached 14-16s while at Roots Volleyball. She also coached the Junior Varsity volleyball team for Hyde Park Baptist High School for the 2013-2014 season.
Julianna is a 2004 graduate from Connelly High School in Austin, Texas, where she played volleyball for the Lady Cougars. She continued her career collegiately as a four-year starter at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, Tennessee. During her time at Tennessee, she was a member of the Dean’s List and earned All-Conference Tournament honors.
Julianna believes that through creating a positive learning environment she can push her players beyond what they believed they could accomplish on their own. This positive space cultivates learning leadership skills, conflict resolution, teamwork, and becoming contributing members of our community.
Julianna and Brad reside in Austin with their 7-year old daughter, Isabelle and 4-year old daughter, Zoe. Julianna is entering her 13th season coaching with the Roots Volleyball family.
