Director Bio

Emily is entering her 3rd season as the Director at Hill Country Indoor (HCI). She is taking the season off from coaching to redirect all of her focus into the development and success of our Roots Volleyball players at our south location.

Last season (2020-2021) Emily Williams served the head coach for Roots Volleyball’s second 16s team – 16 Hickory and Director for Roots Volleyball’s Hill Country Indoor (HCI) location.

Emily Williams was born Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She attended Grissom High School in Huntsville, Alabama (Class of 2006). Emily attended Auburn University (Class of 2010) and graduated with a BS in Health Promotion.

She worked in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano for 6 years until her first son was born. She became a stay at home mom while coaching club volleyball. Emily coached club for Victory Volleyball Club in Dallas, Texas (13U-17U) for 7 seasons (2014-2020). Her teams saw great successes including qualifying for a bid at regionals (2016, 2018, 2019) and a 9th place finished at Northeastern National Qualifier (2018). Emily moved to Spicewood in December of 2019 with her husband (Ben) and sons (Ford and Jay).

Emily opted not to pursue volleyball in college but continued to enjoy intramural and beach volleyball while at Auburn University. After college, she wanted to get back into the sport. She has always loved the game and mentoring young women in church, so she jumped into coaching and hasn’t looked back. She enjoys watching players develop, both physically and mentally, and seeing players reach their goals. With her background in kinesiology, form and technique are of high importance to her to keep girls’ bodies strong and injury free for the long haul.

This will be Emily’s 3rd season as a Director with the Roots Volleyball family.
