We are so excited to announce that Roots Volleyball athlete, Samantha Wunsch, has committed to play volleyball at Texas State University. Sam has been a part of the Roots family (formerly Texas Eclipse) since her 14s year and we have loved having the opportunity to watch her grow as an athlete and a teammate. Sam is a multi-sport athlete at Vandegrift High School, playing both varsity volleyball and varsity softball. She will graduate in 2022.

“Sam’s determination to improve and tenacity to compete make her the ideal person to have on your team. She is relentless in her pursuit of success, and I am excited that she will compete at the next level for Texas State,” says her current coach, Jessica Brannan.

Director Heather Anderson has been her coach and mentor throughout Sam’s volleyball career:  “Sam is a phenomenal athlete. She has a massive block that will effectively shut down any outside hitter and a hammer of an arm. Texas State is getting a fierce competitor that will make an immediate impact. We are so proud and cannot wait to watch Sam crush it at the next level. Go Bobcats!”
