We are proud to announce that Roots Volleyball athlete, Sadie Swift, has committed to play volleyball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Sadie made an immediate positive impact on the Roots Volleyball program when she joined her 16’s year and has helped lead the 17 Under Armour Green team to a recent 3rd place finish at regionals and a bid to nationals. Apart from Roots, she plays varsity basketball and volleyball for Austin High School, where she will graduate in 2022.

Sadie’s coaches have enjoyed watching her grow over the past two years. “Sadie has come so far in such a short amount of time. She is now a dominant force on the court and controls the net anytime she’s in the game. Her development has been so much fun to watch,” says Lindsay Rosenthal, Director of Roots Volleyball and Sadie’s 15s & 16s coach.

“I am so excited to watch Sadie compete at the next level for UNC. She is an amazing student, great athlete, and inspirational leader who’s drive and work ethic know no boundaries. UNC is a great fit for her athletically and academically and we look forward to celebrating her success in the coming years,” says Jessica Brannan, head coach of 17 Under Armour Green.

Congratulations Sadie, we look forward to watching you continue your volleyball journey in Chapel Hill as a Tar Heel!
