We’re thrilled to share the exciting news of Mia Rojas-Avila’s commitment to play volleyball at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY. Mia’s journey has been marked by dedication and hard work, as she not only contributes her skills to our 18 Green team for the 2023-2024 season but also plays an integral role on the Vandegrift High School Varsity Volleyball team.

Mia’s relentless pursuit of excellence is truly commendable. She’s not just a standout athlete but a dedicated student of the game, with experience training alongside the Mexico National Team and a deep commitment to learning the game. “From training with the Mexico National Team to studying film, Mia has put in an incredible amount of work to get to the caliber of player she is today. She is incredibly coachable, asks the right questions and is a dominant force on the right side – no opposing hitter wants to face the block that she puts up on the net!” says Lindsay Thompson, 171 Green Head Coach and Roots Recruiting Director.
