We are so excited to announce that Roots 18 Under Armour Blue athlete, Lyla Jones, has committed to play volleyball at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas. Lyla is an extremely dynamic player who has been an essential part of the Roots volleyball program. 

“We are beyond ecstatic for Lyla’s commitment to TAMIU! She is an amazing setter who plays the front row like a 6’2′ middle blocker, and then steps into the back row and takes on the mentality of a Libero. And she’s a SETTER! Lyla is one of the hardest working and most passionate players I’ve had the privilege of working with, and is the epitome of a gym rat. She loves the game and her teammates, and has a drive to get better every day. I look forward to watching her grow even more as a player and a person over the next four years as a Dustdevil!,” says Joe Hunstock, head coach of 18 Under Armour Blue for the 2021-2022 season.
