Coach Bio

This season (2024-2024) Tara Wulf is the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s third 13s team – 13-3 Maple

Tara was born in West Point, New York and attended Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Virginia. She was a four-year starter and gradated in 2016.

Tara continued her volleyball career collegiately at Baylor University (2016-2020) in Waco, Texas. During her time at Baylor, she was 2-time Defensive Player of the Week. Tara led her team to a Big 12 Championship (2019) and was a Final 4 libero (2019).

Tara worked equally as hard in the classroom as she did on the court and accumulated numerous academic honors including First Team Academic All-Big 12 (2019), First Team Academic All-Big 12 (2018), Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team (2018), and was a seven-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection. She graduated from Baylor in 2020 with a BS in Health, Kinesiology, and Leisure Studies.

Following graduation, Tara headed to Oregon and served as the Volunteer Assistant Coach at the University of Oregon (2020-2021). She moved back to Texas three years ago and currently resides in north Austin.

Previously (2022-2023) Tara was the head coach for Roots Volleyball’s Rise team – 14 Elm. The season before (2021-2022) Tara served as the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s top 17s team – 17 Under Armour Green. She led her team to a 5th place finish at Far Western National Qualifier (USA) and qualified the following weekend for USAV Girls’ Junior Nationals at Lone Star Regionals (USA division). She also served as the Assistant Coach at Southwestern University in Georgetown for the 2021 collegiate season.

Roots Volleyball is excited to bring Tara wealth of knowledge to our coaching staff in her 3rd season with the Roots Volleyball family.
