Coach Bio

This season (2021-2022) Rob Taliaferro is the co-head coach for Root Volleyball’s third 17s team – 17 Maple and the head coach for Roots Volleyball’s top 15s team – 15 Under Armour Green.

In 2019-2020, Rob served as the head coach for 15 Black and the assistant coach for 17 Under Armour. Previously Rob served as the head coach for 14 HCI Black and the head coach for 16 HCI Black (2018-2019); head coach for 16 Black and the assistant coach for 13 Black (2017-2018); head coach for 15 Black (2016-2017); and head coach for 15 Black (2015-2016). Under her guidance her teams have earned numerous medals in competitive play throughout the nation.

Rob was a four-year starter for McCallum High School and played 6 years of club volleyball for AIM and Austin Metro. Taliaferro attended college at the University of North Texas, where she played and coached for the University of North Texas Women’s Club Team. While earning her degree, Rob served as the assistant coach for Denton High School Varsity volleyball team. She left Denton and returned to Austin in 2010 to finish her degree. Taliaferro graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and a minor in Sports Psychology.

Currently, Rob works in Corporate Wellness for a large tech company. She is also the Junior Varsity volleyball coach and assistant Varsity volleyball coach at Hyde Park High School. This is Rob’s 7th season coaching with the Roots Volleyball family.
