Coach Bio

This season (2020-2021), Michelle Tasin will be the head coach for Roots Volleyball’s second 11s team – 11 Hickory.

Michelle was born in Houston, Texas and graduated from Klein High School in 2014. She was a leader on the field and was named two-time Softball Offensive Player of the Year and two-time 2nd Team Most Valuable Player (2014) in high school.

She continued her college softball career at Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. Michelle earned numerous awards on and off the field.  She was a two-time All-Conference Honoree, Offensive Player of the Year, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Softball Representative, SCAC Academic Scholar. She also holds the highest batting average and highest slugging percentage in school history and has the longest hitting streak in the school record book. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2017. She continued her education and graduated from Lamar University with a Master’s in Education specializing in School Counseling and LPC in May 2020.

Last season (2019-2020) Michelle served as the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s 12 HCI White team. She came to Roots Volleyball with several years of coaching experience. In addition to coaching, she has three years scoring college and high school volleyball games and three years private softball lesson coaching experience. Michelle coached a 13U volleyball team in Longview, Texas (East Texas Juniors). Her teams placed in gold or silver brackets in every tournament, earned a 2nd place medal in the East Texas Volleyball Series, and 1st place finish in a Dallas Qualifier.

Michelle currently resides in the Lake Travis area and is a school counselor at Dripping Springs Elementary.  She enjoys spending time with her puppy, Astro. This will be her 2nd season with the Roots Volleyball family.
