Coach Bio

This season (2021-2022) Korinne Stinson is the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s sixth 14s team – 14 Oak and head coach for Root Volleyball’s top 18s team – 18 Under Armour Green.

Korinne Stinson was the head coach for 18 Under Amrour Green for the 2020-2021 season. In 2019-2020, Korinne served as the head coach for 18 Under Armour and assistant coach for 16 Grey.  She led her team the previous season (2018-2019) to a strong top third finish at USAV Girls’ Junior Nationals. Previously, Korinne was the head coach for 17 Black (2017-2018), the assistant coach for 16 Black (2016-2017), and the assistant coach for 16 White (2015-2016 team). Korinne was also named Roots Volleyball’s Head Coach of the Year (2017-2018).

Korinne joined the Roots Volleyball family five seasons ago and brought a wealth of coaching knowledge and experience with her. Previously, she served as the 7th Grade and junior varsity head coach at St. Stephens Episcopal School (1 season) and Reicher Catholic High School junior varsity head coach (2 seasons). Most recently she served three seasons as the varsity assistant coach at Hyde Park High School before taking over the varsity head coach position in 2018. Throughout her high school coaching career, she has also coached club volleyball. Stinson coached a 13s team for Alii Volleyball Club (1 season) and a 13s team for TCA Central Texas Volleyball Club (1 season).

Stinson has been actively playing volleyball for 20 years. She was a 3-year letter winner for Nederland High School. Korinne continued her volleyball career collegiately through her commitment to play for Blinn College in Brenham, Texas, a Division l Junior College. She led her team to a 5th place finish at the NJCAA National tournament (2007) and the following year earned the National Championship title (2008). During her final season at Blinn, she earned Academic All-American honors (2008). She continued her education at University of Texas and was instrumental in many successes for the University of Texas Club Team (3 seasons). While at UT, she served as the Club President (2 seasons) and earned honors as a National All-Tournament Team Honorable Mention (2011), All-Conference Team (2012), and National All-Tournament Second Team (2012). She graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics.

Korinne was born in Nederland, Texas and currently resides in Austin, Texas. She has four siblings – three sisters and one brother. She teaches math and is the varsity head coach at Hyde Park High School. This is Korinne’s 6th season with the Roots Volleyball family.
