This season (2021-2022) Kathy Sullivan is the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s fourth 14s team – 14 Mesquite.

Previously (2020-2021), Kathy was the assistant coach for 14 Mesquite. In her 2019-2020 season, Kathy Sullivan served as the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s fourth 14s team – 14 Grey. The previous season (2018-2019) Kathy served as the head coach for 14 Grey and the season before (2017-2018) she served as the assistant coach for 14 Grey and the head coach for 15 White. Kathy is also involved with youth after-school programs and the Rising Stars summer program.

Kathy’s volleyball coaching experience began in 2007. She has coached players ages 9-16. Her 2014-2015 15s team finished with a 3rd place medal at Houston’s Cross Court Classic.

In addition to coaching club volleyball, Kathy was the Head Coach at Our Lady of Victory Middle School from 2010-2015. She led her teams to an All-Area Championship every season.

She is a USAV Impact certified coach and a USAV regional referee. Kathy is also a 18-year TASO certified official. Kathy has a strong religious base and believes coaches must lead by example. She feels it is important that players recognize they are important as individuals, team members, and community members.

Kathy believes motivation and positive coaching create strong players and her players know she has high expectations. She feels we are teaching players not only volleyball but also a way of life for now and their future.

Kathy currently resides in Leander with her husband, Pat, and she is excited to continue coaching with her daughter, Shauna. This is Kathy’s 8th season coaching with the Roots Volleyball family.
