Coach Bio

This season (2022-2023) Claire Penn is the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s second 12s team – 12 Maple.

Previously, Claire was a coach at Coach Em’ Up and has coached 7th and 8th-grade volleyball. Claire was born and raised in Austin, Texas where she played volleyball for Concordia High School. In her career, Claire was a 2nd and 1st team All-District MVP in both her sophomore and senior years and Academic All-State during her senior season.

Claire attended Concordia University and then transferred to Liberty University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Behavioral Sciences, Communications, and Religious Studies. She is currently a student at Liberty University studying for her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Claire coached three seasons with TCS Volleyball. Last season (2021-2022) Claire Penn is the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s fifth 13s team – 13 Pecan. This will be her 2nd season with the Roots Volleyball family.
