Coach Bio
This season (2024-2025) Bryce Hudson is the head coach for Roots Volleyball’s third 16s team – 16-3 Maple and head coach for Roots Volleyball’s third 12s team – 12-3 Maple.
Last season (2023-2024) Bryce assisted 16-2 Blue to four top five finishes and a strong showing at Lone Star Regionals. Previously (2022-2023) Bryce served as the assistant coach for 12 Green. Bryce refs volleyball matches during the school season and earned TASO Rookie Referee of the Year (2023) honors. Bryce also coaches Roots programming, clinics, lessons, and camps.
Bryce was born in Houston, Texas and attended Cypress Lakes High School (Class of 2017). He continued his career collegiately at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s in cyber security. While at UTSA he served as the student assistant for UTSA Women’s Volleyball (2017-2018). Previously, Bryce coached club volleyball for two seasons with Texas Tornadoes (2020-2022).
Bryce takes every opportunity to invest in each player on and off the court. His ethics and coaching style exhibits sportsmanship, leadership, positive motivation, and a “team first” mentality while preparing athletes for next level play.
Bryce currently resides in Pflugerville with his German Shepard, Ghost, and works as a Cyber Security Analyst. This will be his 5th season coaching club and 3rd season coaching with the Roots Volleyball family.
