Coach Bio

This season (2024-2025) Corshaya Brown is the assistant coach for Roots Volleyball’s top 10s team – 10-1 Green.

Shaya was born in Topeka, Kansas and move to Texas when she was 11. She is the baby of 10 siblings (oldest brother 34). She attends Vandegrift High School. Shaya was a member of Student Council, choir, robotics team, and a member of the track and field team. She also earned A/B honor roll awards each semester.

Shaya began her volleyball career in 6th grade and played her entire club volleyball with Roots Volleyball as a national team member. This past season she helped secure 18-2 Blue’s USAV Girls’ Junior National bid at Lone Star Regionals (Freedom division). She led her team to a strong showing at Nationals in Baltimore, MD. Shaya suffered a season ending injury and will not be continuing her playing career.

Previously Shaya has coached Mini Club (2 seasons), Foundations (1 season), and All Skills (2 seasons). She is also a member of the Roots Volleyball front desk staff.

Shaya understands the responsibility of shaping the lives, choices, and integrity of young women. Learning leadership, self advocation, communication, and teamwork skills are paramount in creating the next generation of strong, successful women who will go out into the world and do great things.

This is Shaya’s 1st season coaching with the Roots Volleyball family.
