Coach Bio

This season (2022-2023) Ariana Porfidia is the head coach for Roots Volleyball’s Rise team – 11 Cedar.

Ariana was born in Houston then moved to Pflugerville. She attended Hendrickson High school where she played volleyball and graduated in 2015.

Ariana continued her education at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. She led the SHSU club volleyball team to several strong finishes and served on the board as the Vice President for 2 seasons. Ariana also excelled off the court as a member of the SHSU Nursing Society and was the recipient of multiple academic scholarships. She graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Previously, Ariana coached for Asics Willowbrook Volleyball Club for the 2021-2022 season with a 15U team. She has also coached several YMCA volleyball youth teams.

Ariana works as an RN in a postpartum unit and a OBGYN clinic. She currently resides in Georgetown with her husband, Josh, and 3 fur babies. This will be Ariana’s first season coaching with the Roots Volleyball family.
